We aim to give an honest description pointing out any obvious flaws.  There are lots of images which you can ZOOM and below a 'Condition guideline' to help you. 

 

• EXCELLENT : Very little wear and no obvious flaws.
• VERY GOOD : Very minor/light wear commensurate with age. 
  
• GOOD : Some age wear.  Can be seen but does not detract.
  
• NEW : This is a brand new item not owned by anyone else and in new condition.

Please remember that Antique and Vintage items sometimes have signs of wear commensurate with age.... It's part of their charm!

All our jewellery is beautifully presented and carefully packed to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.  We use Royal Mail and DHL and aim to dispatch orders within 48 hours of receipt.

DHL Express service at our discretion on selected higher value items shipped overseas. 

PLEASE NOTE : Regretfully we no longer ship to Germany because of the complex packaging restrictions/registration.  Also we do not ship to France because diamonds require an independent French Broker for import clearance.  Sadly at this moment we no longer ship to Russia and Ukraine.

Customs Duty & Tax : If you are outside the UK you may be liable to pay Customs Duty/VAT/GST/Tax on your purchase.  Importing rules are different for each country so please check your countries regulations before placing an order. Any import charges levied by the destination country are always the responsibilty of and payable by the buyer. 

RETURNS

We are happy to do a refund for any reason if you decide the item isn't right for you.  Contact us via email so we can give you the returns address.  You have 14 days from receipt of the item to send it back.

The following conditions apply.

1 : Item must be in the original condition, we will not accept a return if the ring has been resized or the item altered in any way. 
2 : Please keep the inventory tag attached to the ring or item.  We will not accept a return if the inventory tag is missing.
 3 : Item must be returned in the presentation box and carefully packed.
 4 : Items which have been re-sized by our jeweller cannot be returned as they are considered to be a custom order.

It is recommended that you use a tracked service and send us the tracking number.  Shipping from the Vintage Jewel Box and return shipping to Vintage Jewel Box is not refundable.

Please note, any order cancelled before being shipped will be refunded minus the transaction fee charged to VJB by the payment provider who processed the order.
If an overseas shipment is returned as refused to sign for/not accepted by the buyer all transaction fees, shipping and UK import charges will be deducted from the refund.

Vintage Jewel Box is not VAT registered.

How long does my order take to process?
We aim to pack and ship your order within 1/2 business days. 

How is my order shipped? 
UK orders are shipped by Royal Mail Special Delivery guaranteed next day, tracked and insured. This service is unaffected by industrial strikes or the cyber incident.
Due to issues with Royal Mail International orders will now ship by DHL or FedEx ~ Delivery approx 3-5 business days. 
Occasionally there are delays with customs, the shipper, the weather etc which are out of our control.
We are a UK business, so buyers outside the UK please be aware you may be liable for Duty and/or Taxes on your purchase.

Can the ring be resized?

Most high street jewellery shops do resizing and you can get a perfect fit by going in person. If you prefer this option we are happy to offer advice as to whether a ring may be altered to your size.  Resized rings cannot be returned.

Does the ring/jewellery come in a box?
All of our jewellery comes with a new presentation box. Wherever possible we use environmentally friendly, recyclable packaging and pack with care so your item arrives in perfect condition.

Is your jewellery certificated?
In the UK most antique & vintage diamond rings & jewellery do not come with certificates or appraisals. I have 30 years experience selling jewellery and all our items are cleaned, checked and tested by jewellery specialists and gemologists.  Some pieces are appraised by a registered independent National Association of Jewellers Appraiser & Valuer and this will be clearly stated on the listing  : Certificated Rings

Is your jewellery guaranteed?
Due to the age and nature of antique pieces our jewellery doesn't come with a guarantee, however, we check and test everything carefully and only sell items in good wearable condition that we would be happy to own ourselves. 

Do you accept returns?
Yes, we accept returns.  Keep the tag on the ring and contact us within 7 days of receiving the item so we can give you the returns address. You have 14 days from receipt to send it back.  We do not accept returns for items which have been resized or altered by our jeweller or yours. The return shipping is paid by the buyer and is not refundable.

What is the condition of the item?
All our jewellery has been pre owned so it will show some signs of wear.  We are always careful to describe items as accurately and honestly as possible and provide detailed close up images. We never sell anything that has been extensively restored or altered or isn't in good wearable condition. See our  Buying Guide

Where do you buy your jewellery?
All our unique jewellery is carefully chosen by hand and is sourced from auctions, antique fairs, private sellers and trade contacts all over the UK.
